about
The Noise is the sixth single to be released by the Sydney-based Indie band, The Wattles.
Conceptually, the track is a self-reflective monologue, speaking on moments of intense ‘noise’ and stress within relationships. It explores the idea that overwhelming and difficult interactions can be destructive at the time, yet are integral for self-growth and awareness.
The Noise focuses on dynamics throughout, building in intensity over the entire five and a half minutes.
The swelling dream-like guitar is met with emotive vocals and arpeggiated piano chord progressions. The Wattles’ drummer Max Groblicki used light cymbal work and subtle accents to give a soft but textural accompaniment.
